What do we do.......

Regular Club Ride

A traditional club ride of approximately 50 miles. Sometimes hilly, sometimes flat. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow. You get the idea........

All rides start from Malton Railway Station:
Sunday at 9am
Friday at 9:15am

For those that fancy something a bit faster, we have a "chaingang" on Wednesday evenings when our club Time Trials are not on. These start at 6:30pm from Malton Station, or join our tempo group at 6:30pm from Swinton.

Road Racing

Massed start road racing on open roads with usually up to 70 riders.

A personal licence is required to ride under the umbrella of British Cycling and/or "The League International"

To train for such events we ride "Chain Gang", a regular route once a week during the winter months where we ride in a controlled group taking turns on the front. We try to keep our average to above 20mph for this undulating course, so its not for the faint hearted!

Time Trials

An individual or team is timed over a set distance. An "all out" effort is required to better your own time.

All Club Time Trials are held under the Cycling Time Trials umbrella.

Track Riding at Manchester Velodrome

A few hours indoors on a cold winters day keeps the speed in the legs.

Cyclocross and Mountainbiking

Picture
During the winter months some of our Road Racers compete in Cyclocross events. These are usually an hour long circuit race on a road bike with knobbly tyres although most races can be raced on mountainbikes aswel.
