Sledmere Monuments Time Trial 2015 results
CYCLING: WAREHAM WINS AT SLEDMERE
ALISTAIR WAREHAM overcame cold and windy conditions for a resounding win in the Malton Wheelers Road Club’s 10.8 miles time trial on Saturday. The Team Swift rider led his club to a clean sweep of the podium places. Wareham’s time of 24‑02 on the course near Sledmere was more than a minute faster than second-placed Blair Buss and is a new course record.
Of the six members of the promoting club who competed, Steve Kneeshaw (pictured) was fastest, finishing in 26‑54 for 16th place overall. Sam Leng and Tom Golding finished with creditable times of 32‑54 and 35‑13 respectively in their first open time trial competition. Veteran Malton riders Matthew Enticknap, Paul Hickman and Mark Devine filled the middle ranks.
The best‑placed woman was Scarborough Paragon rider Louise Scupham (29‑11).
